這是我心中一個很電影時刻的回憶，在腦海裡回想時，當時的對白感覺有它們各自的形體，在那個空間中，嘴裡發出的聲音揉雜了各種情緒和呼吸心跳，像是固體一樣碰得到、無法忽視。於是決定讓影片字幕不是只是輔助，而是成為主角。所以懂中文的朋友看到的影片會是我心中最理想的樣子，不用再看底下的一排字幕。

This is a memory that has always felt deeply cinematic to me.

Whenever I think of this moment, the dialogue doesn’t feel like mere words—it feels as though each line has its own physical presence. In that space, every voice carries layers of emotion, breath, and heartbeat, becoming something almost tangible. Something you can almost touch, impossible to ignore. That idea led me to make the subtitles more than just a translation or accessibility tool. Instead, they become a character of their own.

For those who can read the Chinese characters on screen, this is the version that comes closest to how I originally imagined the film—without having to look down at the subtitles at the bottom of the screen. For friends watching from abroad, I’ve still included English subtitles below. But I tried to make their movement and timing echo the way the dialogue moves within the frame, so that even if you can’t read Chinese characters, hopefully you can still catch a glimpse of the effect I wanted to create.
